What is a Web Stream?

January 26, 2011Posted by csandy

A web stream is a presentation shown in real time over the Internet.  The presentation is typically video with audio, but it can also be audio only.

True streaming is done live and in real time – putting an annual conference, press conference, event, concert, speech, worship, wedding, or sport online in real time, which could be viewed by dozens or even millions of people simultaneously.  Web streaming is sometimes confused with progressive downloads.  YouTube is the most popular type of progressive download.  Essentially, it is video on demand.

While streaming and progressive downloads differ, Sandy Audio Visual LLC offers both types of Internet content delivery and has the ability to help you monetize both your live and archived event.  Archived content can easily be set up as a pay-per-view, while live content tends to be very attractive to advertisers.
