SANDY AUDIO VISUAL (SAV) CHOSEN AS AUDIO VISUAL CONTRACTOR FOR GRAND MUSICAL EVENING ON NOV 3RD AT ROGERS CENTRE
Toronto, Ontario – On November 3rd at Rogers Center, SAV Productions will produce the largest musical extravaganza of its kind – the Grand Musical Evening led by legendary Indian film composer, singer, and lyricist, Maestro Dr.Ilaiyaraja. Dr. Ilaiyaraja will be accompanied by over 100 musical artists in song and on Western and traditional South Asian instruments.
Dr.Ilaiyaraja is known by the title ‘Isaignani’ in Tamil which means Maestro. He has won four Indian National Film Awards; three for Best Music Direction and one for Best Background Score. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award from the Government of India. His works are mainly in Tamil, but has also scored music for numerous films in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and Marathi. He is the first Asian to compose a full symphony performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in England. An Ilaiyaraja composition, Naanthaan Ungappanda, was played during the grand opening ceremony of 2012 London Olympics.
To support this event SAV Productions in association with PA+ has configured a large Harman system featuring 138 JBL Vertec line array elements including 96 JBL Vertec 4889s, 12 JBL Vertec 4887s, and 30 JBL Vertec 4880 Subs. The arrays will be powered by Crown I-Tech 12000 HDs and Crown I-Tech 5000 HDs.
Installed at Front of House will be 4 Yamaha PM5D-RH Digital Consoles with 4 Yamaha M7Cl-48 Digital Consoles controlling monitors.
The lighting package consists of 69 MAC 2000 Wash, 53 MAC 2000 Profile, 71 MAC 101s, 20 MAC Atomic 3000 Strobes, and 5 MAC 600 lighting instruments from Martin. Lycian M2 2.5K Follow Spots, and 10 FE 20 Light MR16 Blinders round out the package. All intelligent fixtures are being controlled by 2 Grand MA2 Consoles. The production will also feature a 50 foot (15.25 meter) Martin LC LED wall.
The in-house IMAG package will have 5 video screens and video recording for broadcast will be supported by a full HD broadcast truck.
The event is expected to draw over 38,000 people.
